The official opening of our Happiness Garden
On Tuesday 4th May 2021 the Mayor of Chelmsford and the Deputy Mayor visited Larkrise to formally open our Happiness Garden. After the cutting of the ribbon at the entrance to our garden our Class Ambassadors enjoyed pointing out the pebbles they had painted. The children thrived from having the opportunity to share what makes them happy. Take a look at some of the photos taken on the day.
Curious Minds Curriculum
Thank you to Mr Hunt, a parent and school governor, who kindly donated a large batch of pumpkins to Year 1 to carve and decorate. This is part of a wider initiative related to our Curious Minds curriculum. Each school year we will offer guaranteed experiences so that every child will gain valuable knowledge and understanding that can only be acquired from first-hand experiences.
'Wear Yellow' day in school - Friday 23rd October 2020
Staff and children came to school wearing yellow to raise awareness of the importance of mental, physical and social wellbeing. All donations go towards class funds to spend on resources linked to our Habits of Happiness daily practice.
Farewell to Mrs Jarrold
Mrs Jarrold is leaving Larkrise to spend more time with her family. Mrs Jarrold has been a member of the staff team since 2002 and she will be greatly missed by the whole school community.
Celebrating National Fitness Day with a Skip, Hop and Hooray on 23rd September 2020.

As part of National Fitness Day, we took the opportunity to get skipping to music as part of our daily movement challenge. Take a look at our beaming faces as we embraced the challenge of skipping for a full fifteen minutes:
