September 2021 New Starters Information

We would like to give you and your child a warm welcome to Larkrise Primary School. We're incredibly pleased your family will soon be part of our school community.

You should have received a welcome pack through the post. It is vitally important that you complete the forms contained within the pack and return them to the school at your earliest convenience.

Home visits were conducted week commencing 7th June 2021. Miss Spight and Mrs Osborne enjoyed meeting you and your child for the first time and hopefully helped to answer any questions and alleviate any initial concerns you may have.

Stay and play visits are scheduled for week commencing 28th June 2021. These will provide an opportunity for you and your child to explore the EYFS outdoor classroom and our new Happiness Garden. Miss Spight and the Learning Support Assistants, who will be working with the class will be available and ready to play! For this session, we do ask that only one adult accompanies your child so that we can promote social distancing. Younger siblings are also unable to attend this session.

On Thursday 14th July we were due to host a whole class picnic in our new Happiness Garden. However, as there has been a delay in lifting the COVID-19 lockdown restrictions, we are now unable to run this event safely. Instead there will be an opportunity to explore the Happiness Garden during the stay and play visits.

The start of the school year is Thursday 2nd September for children. Until then, there are a number of ways you can help to prepare your child for school:

Some resources that may support your child and you before they start school:

Starting school is an exciting and often anxious time for both children and parents. We want to get to know you and your child before they start at Larkrise so we know how best to support you as a family. If you have any questions or concerns before your child starts at Larkrise, please do not hesitate to get in touch with the school or speak to a member of staff at the upcoming welcome events.

Please remember reading stories with your child and talking to them is the most valuable way to ensure your child is ready for the exciting challenge of school!
